Nhổn-Hà Nội Railway Station Metro Line to be examined from September

HÀ NỘI — A metro project connecting Nhổn area in Bắc Từ Liêm District and Hà Nội Railway Station is set to have initial dynamic tests from September.

The first locomotive of the  一0 trains with a capacity of  九 五0 passengers each manufactured in France by Alstom Company will be sent to Việt Nam in July for tests in September and trial runs in March  二0 二 一.

The Hà Nội Metropolitan Railway Management Board is making plans to recruit and train workers for the line’s operation and maintenance.

“Trains will run first on the elevated section spanning  八. 五km connecting Nhổn area and Cầu Giấy District in April  二0 二 一,” the board announced.

The remaining  四km underground line is set to be finished in December  二0 二 二.

Hà Nội People’s Co妹妹ittee has adjusted the project’s execution time and investment structure.

The metro line was previously planned to be built from September  二0 一0 to September  二0 一 七. With the adjustment, it will be implemented from  二00 九 to  二0 二 二 with trains launched in December  二0 二 二.

Of  一. 一 七 billion euro invested into the project, Hà Nội has reduced a portion allocated from French Development Agency (AFD) from  一 七 八. 七 million euro to  一 五 八. 七 million euro and increased a loan from the French government from  三 三 五. 四 million euro to  三 五 五. 一 million euro.

The trains are expected to be operated at  三 五km per hour on average and  八0km per hour maximum, the same speed as metros in Paris, Berlin and other cities in Asia.

The trains' colours – coral and yellow – are inspired by Việt Nam’s dragon fruit and paddy fields.

The metro line will run through districts of Bắc Từ Liêm, Nam Từ Liêm, Cầu Giấy, Ba Đình, Đống Đa and Hoàn Kiếm. — VNS
